cathy1 Frieda Wade grew up on a Karoo farm and then studied BA Languages at the University of the Free State and HED and B Ed at the University of Stellenbosch. She is married and has a son and daughter. She has taught at schools and colleges and for the past 10 years has been involved with the writing of language and communication books for Future Managers. Frieda loves spending time with her family, walking, playing tennis and going to the theatre. She’s open-minded, believes everything happens for a reason and that there is not only one way of doing anything.
cathy1 Cathy Robertson was born in Bloemfontein and is married with two children. Her qualifications include:

  • M A (Critical Linguistics) summa cum laude (Univ. of Stellenbosch 1995)
  • Transvaal Teachers’ Higher Education Diploma summa cum laude (Johannesburg College of Education 1967)
  • Registered Assessor, Moderator and Verifier
  • A number of certificates, including Partnerships, Project Management, QMS, Skills Development Facilitator SDF), Risk Analysis, Time Management, Diversity Management, Leadership etc.

She has also taught and lectured in schools and colleges with the primary focus being subjects in Communication, Public Relations and Office Practice. Her current position is Deputy CEO: Innovation and Development.

gerda1 Gerda Venter was part of the first task team that piloted OBE in the Western Cape and took part in the training of lecturers nationally in OBE. She was also part of the design team tasked with creating the first simulated enterprise. She is the author of several books including Computer Practice OBE and wrote the NCV qualification for Office Administration levels 2, 3 & 4. She has worked in the college sector for many years; 12 years as a Business Studies lecturer and 6 years as Programme Manager for Business Studies.
nickey1 Nickey Cilliers is currently Executive Director for Future Managers. He has extensive experience working in both the school and college sector. He has worked as a lecturer and also in college management. His qualifications include B.A. Hons and an MBA. In his spare time he enjoys running and playing golf. The motto he lives by is: Drink your best red wine today – don’t wait for another day to do the things you want to – it may never come.
cecile1 Cecile van Rooyen is currently a campus manager at a FET College. She has experience working in both the school and college sector and was a Hospitality lecturer and manager for 10 years. She has experience of vocational and occupational programs and is an assessor and moderator for a few SETA’s as well as Umalusi. In her spare time she collects antique kitchenware and handbags and is a sucker for boot- and white elephant sales. She has also traveled extensively and likes to try out different cuisines. Her motto is: “If you don’t succeed, try and try again”
